Born in late 2011, Human Factor is an exciting Russian group formed by talented and experienced musicians. Konstantin Shtirlitz and Alexander Meshcheryakov, respectively former drummer and bassist with mighty Infront, have joined forces with keyboardist and guitarists Sergei Volkov, principle composer and arranger for Kaftan Smeha, and guitarist Ivan Ivanov of Hagi Tragger. The band’s music is probably best described as modern instrumental rock with major space and progressive rock influences, strong melodic edge, and definite sense of adventure: tracks segue one into the other, atmospheres are established and broken, some rhythm patterns have progressive-like complexity, but the primary attention is given to strengthening a sense of enjoyable aural journey. This is an excellent, mature recordings which fans of good instrumental rock music.

For a long time Baroque and Bach specialst Koopman wanted to record this masterpieces of Bach and now was the time to do it! Recorded in the trusted and beautiful-sounding Walloon Church in Amsterdam. My recording of Bach’s harpsichord partitas was a long time in coming. The main reason was a lack of time (recording Bach’s complete organ works, complete cantatas and Dieterich Buxtehude’s Opera Omnia required much time and attention). Another factor was my respect for these masterpieces by Bach – they are not something to just fit in between other projects. I already had plans to record them in the 1990s, for Erato, and now that I finally am able to, it is for my own label.

A progressive rock supergroup formed by onetime members of Dream Theater, the Dixie Dregs, and Spock's Beard, Flying Colors flesh out their rousing, structured melodic rock with improvisation and technical virtuosity.
With a mandate from executive producer Bill Evans to keep the project anchored in accessible songwriting, Flying Colors brought together vocalist Casey McPherson (Alpha Rev), vocalist/keyboardist Neal Morse (Spock's Beard, Transatlantic), guitarist Steve Morse (the Dixie Dregs, Deep Purple, Kansas), bass guitarist Dave LaRue (the Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band), and drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Transatlantic). Per això, els músics i compositors de Catalunya es van posar en contacte amb els estils i tècniques més avançats de Nàpols, París i Viena. Tomàs Milans (1672-1742) és un dels principals compositors d'aquest període, contemporani amb Fux, Delalande, Caldara, Scarlatti i Albinoni, tot i que va compondre només música religiosa per la seva obra com a mestre de capella a Barcelona i Girona.

La Bella è la Bestia (The Beauty Is The Beast) (2012). If you tend to like Italian progressive rock, and in particular if you have a soft spot for artists exploring material of a fairly challenging nature within a symphonic art rock framework, then Syndone is a band worth taking a closer look at, especially if you find the inclusion of jazz and classical symphonic oriented passages to be regarded as a positive feature…

Renowned for his rich production in the field of orchestral music, Kalevi Aho is also a prolific composer for chamber forces. Here three works spanning two decades have been combined, with the Sonata for two accordions originating in 1984 as a Sonata for solo accordion described by the composer in his own liner notes as ‘comparable in aspiration with Liszt’s most virtuosic piano works’.

Wolfgang Dauner has now been highly active on the scene for more than fifty years. Dauner hired top young musicians to be around him for the current upgrade to United 2.0. The second United generation, like the first one, is eagerly researching the crossing points between jazz, rock, funk and world music. Featuring some of the finest avant-garde jazz players from Germany and beyond the Ensemble began life in 1975. Pianist Wolfgang Dauner, initially recruiting musicians from his home base of Stuttgart (then a hotbed of avant-garde jazz), put together a rotating cast of musicians, and shared writing and arranging duties with guitarist Volker Kriegel.
