Vance can play many different styles - from funk fo blues, from R&B to Soul - but on this CD he just plays the Blues from his heart! From "Doing my own thing" to "Stormy Monday Blues" - from "You're so Fine" to "Blue Bird" every blues title is a great Vance Kelly-version!
This third CD of Vance Kelly for Wolf has great music from Vance: Soul, Blues and R&B! On this CD, Vance plays with his Backstreet Blues Band and the great Billy Branch! There are great Blues - "Little Red Rooster" and "Bad Taste in my Mouth" and Soul songs like "Mustang Sally" and "Crying for You".
This CD was recorded in Chicago 1998 at ACME Recording. Vance had his own band, the Backstreet Blues Band in the studio and also background singers. There is a mix of Blues, R&B and Soul songs on this CD! "Twenty Four Hours", "Highway, here I come", are some of the best.
Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Vance Joy releases his highly anticipated third studio album, In Our Own Sweet Time. Created mostly in the pandemic, the album is Joy’s most personal project yet. Realizing what truly matters and growing in new ways personally and creatively, In Our Own Sweet Time is fuelled by old friends, new memories and finding love in a not-so-hopeless place. The eagerly awaited new album includes collaborations with hitmakers such as Joel Little (Lorde, Taylor Swift), Dan Wilson (Adele, Leon Bridges), Take a Day Trip (Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X) and more.
On his second album Joyriding in the Subway, Vance Kelly pushes into new directions, blending funk and soul into traditional Chicago blues. Armed with a sturdy set of originals and covers, Kelly storms through the album, spitting out hot solos and singing with an abandon. His band provides supple support, giving him the freedom to branch into new areas with both his guitar and voice. The production may be a little too pristine for some tastes, but there's no arguing that Kelly provides enough grit on his own.
