INXS were an Australian rock band, formed as The Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales. The band's founding members were bassist Garry Gary Beers, main composer and keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, guitarist Tim Farriss, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. For 20 years, INXS was fronted by Hutchence, whose magnetic stage presence made him the focal point of the band. Initially known for their new wave/pop style, the band later developed a harder pub rock style that included funk and dance elements.

"The Swing" is the 4th studio album by Australian rock band INXS, released in April 1984. It peaked at #1 on the Kent Music Report Albums Chart for five non-consecutive weeks from early April to mid-May 1984. The lead single "Original Sin" was recorded in New York City with Nile Rodgers and featured Daryl Hall on backing vocals. Overall, the album featured a slightly harder-edged sound than their previous releases. Beyond its local success, this album, as its predecessor, entered the US Top 75, reaching #52 on the Billboard 200. It also entered the Canadian Top 40, where it reached #27 on the RPM 100 Albums. In Europe, "The Swing" entered the Top 20 in France due to the big success of its single "Original Sin" which reached the French Top 5 during the summer of 1984 and the Top 40 in the Netherlands.

"The Swing" was released in 1984 and is INXS' fourth studio album. The album features the single “Original Sin”, which was the first INXS single to go #1 in Australia and remained in this position for two whole weeks, shortly followed by reaching #1 in both Argentina and France. The Swing enjoyed long-term success on the Australian music charts, remaining in the top 50 selling albums for over 2 years.

Kick It In Excess is a 1991 INXS bootleg CD released by Kiss The Stone. It consists of a show recorded in San Diego, California on 31 March, 1988 at the San Diego Sports Arena in support of their album Kick.
