Iutam Symposium on Topological Design Optimization of Structures, Machines And Materi

The idea of this monograph is to present the latest results related to experimental and numerical investigations of advanced materials and structures. The contributions cover the field of mechanical, civil and materials engineering, ranging from new modelling and simulation techniques, advanced analysis techniques, optimization of structures and materials and constitutive modelling. Well known experts present their research on damage and fracture of material and structures, materials modelling and evaluation up to image processing and visualization for advanced analyses and evaluation.

This book presents the proceedings of the IUTAM Symposium on Optimal Design and Control of Multibody Systems 2022, covering research papers in the realm of optimal structural and control design for both rigid and flexible multibody systems. It delves into the application of the adjoint approach, enabling the undertaking of extensive topology optimizations to unearth body designs that excel under time- and design-dependent loads. This is the proceedings of the IUTAM Symposium on Exploiting Nonlinear Dynamics for Engineering Systems that was held in Novi Sad, Serbia, from July 15th to 19th, 2018.

Every year, the Technical University of Munich, the Universität der Bundeswehr München, and the University of Applied Sciences in Munich invite researchers and practitioners to join the Munich Symposium on Lightweight Design. Experts from industry and academia discuss design tools, applications, and new developments. Topics include, e.g., composite structures, SHM, microstructures, material modelling, design for additive manufacturing, numerical optimization and in particular topology optimization in aerospace, automotive and other industries. The talks are summarized in short articles and presented in this volume.

This is the Proceedings of the IUTAM Symposium on Solver Coupling and Co-Simulation that was held in Darmstadt, Germany, September 18-20, 2017. The symposium focused on recent advances in the development of numerical methods for solver coupling, like new explicit, implicit and semi-implicit co-simulation methods, new approaches for realizing variable communication-time grids, and advances in the stability and convergence analysis of solver coupling methods.
