Il Saprofita (1974)

Murple unfortunately released only one album (until their belated reunion in 2008) titled "Io Sono Murple" which stands out as a superb piece of 70's Italian Progressive Rock. Centred around the symphonic keyboard and piano work of Pier Carlo Zanco this album blends all of the progressive rock characteristics that made this such a beloved region for this art rock genre. Comprised of just two lengthy tracks (side one and side two) "Io Sono Murple" draws on the classic 70's Ital-prog vibes with gorgeous piano and synthesizer work mixed with fantastic guitar, bass and drum interplay. The 2 songs are both drop dead fantastic and contains the romanticism of I Pooh and Locanda delle Fate with the musical prowess PFM.

This brand-new deluxe edition is part of Decca's anniversary program commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of the great opera composer Giacomo Puccini. Made in January 1974 at Vienna's Sofiensäle, this recording features the finest ensemble of the era, led by Mirella Freni and Luciano Pavarotti, and conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Upon its initial release, the recording was praised by critics and music lovers alike, with Gramophone magazine describing it as "a set to dream about." This legacy continues with this newly presented edition. Remastered from the original 1975 tapes, the recording is now available on audiophile vinyl and as a hybrid SACD with a resolution of 192 kHz/24-bit.

In this film inspired by the ancient erotic and mysterious tales of the Middle East, the main story concerns an innocent young man who comes to fall in love with a slave who selected him as her master. After his foolish error causes their separation, he travels in search of her. Various other travelers who recount their own tragic and romantic experiences include stories of a young man who becomes enraptured by a mysterious woman on his wedding day, and a man who is determined to free a woman from a demon.

Carlo Antonelli, an engineer from Genoa, gets mugged and decides to take justice into his own hands. At first the muggers seem to get the upper hand, but then he's helped by Tommy, a young robber who takes his side.
