Things had hit their nadir for Taylor at Columbia with this 1979 release. The horrible title notwithstanding, there was simply nothing on the album that you'd ever want to hear twice, and it was a struggle to get through much of it once. Unconvincing dance-pop and light filler, decently sung but otherwise routine third-rate soul songs, and a general vapidness weighed this album down and made Taylor's fans almost organize to free him from Columbia.

"The Best Days of My Life" is an album by American singer Johnny Mathis that was released on January 29, 1979, by Columbia Records and scaled back considerably on his more than decade-long practice of recording recent hit songs by other artists. He did, however, cover two standards: "As Time Goes By" and "Begin the Beguine", the latter of which is given a disco arrangement. The album made its first appearance on Billboard magazine's Top LP's & Tapes chart in the issue dated February 24, 1979, and remained there for seven weeks, peaking at #122. It also made it to #38 during a five-week run on the UK album chart.

The transformation of Jean Carn from jazz vocalist to mainstream artist continues on her second Philadelphia International LP, originally released in 1978. She does an interesting remake of hubby Doug Carn's "Revelation/Infant Eyes." The most successful track, "Don't Let It Go to Your Head," missed the R&B Top 20 by more than 30 rungs, despite its enormous charm. "There's a Shortage of Good Men" and "You Can't Come Back Now" are dancefloor fillers, while the ballads are beauties, especially "Together Once Again" and Jean's classy rendition of Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life."
