This very special, and intimate evening was recorded LIVE in 2016 at Swinghouse Studios (Los Angeles, California USA). It consisted of Ryan McGarvey on Guitar/Vocals, Logan Miles Nix (John5 & The Creatures) on Drums, and Carmine Rojas (David Bowie/Rod Stewart/Tina Turner/Joe Bonamassa/etc) on Bass. This performance included such crowd favorites as "My Heart TO You", "Memphis", and "Joyride". As well as epic orchestrations of key original songs "Prove Myself", and "Mystic Dream". Ryan McGarvey is a star on the rise. In just the past few years his accolades have included being selected by Eric Clapton from over 4,000+ artists worldwide to perform at his 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago, to the Guitar Player Magazine’s Annual Readers Choice Award for “Best New Talent” in 2013.

Like all the great artists, Ryan Perry isn’t afraid to rip it up and start again. Since 2007, the Mississippi bandleader has blazed a reputation in the award-winning Homemade Jamz Blues Band. But when it came to his solo debut, Perry took a leap of faith and trusted his talent to land him safe on the other side. Now, High Risk, Low Reward announces the touchdown of a solo artist to treasure. “This album,” he says, “was the hardest thing I’ve done to date.”

Wanting to deliver a more straight ahead blues based album, Ryan McGarvey was joined in the studio by legendary bassist Carmine Rojas (David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Joe Bonamassa, etc) drummer Logan Miles Nix (John 5), and ace keys player Brant Leeper (Coco Montoya, WC Clark, etc) to give what was to become a collection of "Heavy Hearted" all original songs.

Ryan Adams said; "Big Colors was created as a 1980s soundtrack to a movie that never existed. Wednesdays was a study of decline and morality; Big Colors is meant to feel like a daydream. New York, where this album was written, always propels me into new, unexpected creative spaces and this album happened to me, more than I can say I happened to it".

This recording of music by John Harbison and James Primosch contrasts their piano music with compositions for voice, with a major work for each by each of these esteemed composers. Harbison, a faculty member at MIT, has enjoyed a long and distinguished career. His more than 300 compositions have been performer around the world by premiere musical organizations and soloists. James Primosch serves on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, and his discography includes more than 25 recordings of his compositions. Noted for her "dazzling, virtuoso singing" Lucy Fitz Gibbon is a dynamic musician whose repertoire spans the Renaissance to the present. She has performed at prestigious venues in the United States, Canada, and England and is on the faculty at Bard College.
