Tall hats and even taller tales are woven into the fabric of The Lone Star State, and singer-songwriter, Jarrod Dickenson can spin a yarn with the best of them. Hailing from Waco, now based in Nashville via Brooklyn, Dickenson spends most of his time on the road bringing his own particular brand of soulful Americana to a wide variety of music loving audiences around the globe.

Jarrod Lawson takes the listener on a musical journey through forests where trails are paved in soul, jazz litters the sky like stars, and intricate harmonies are the breeze rustling through the foliage of his musical creation. The smoke of his voice, the rich stacks of harmonies built with soulful, jazz-infused structures elicits a sophistication that is rare to the pop music genre. He narrates a world where spiritual forces interact with the will of man, reminiscent of Greek myth, offering explanations of our nature and calling forth mankind to transcend his earthliness for something greater.

Hailing from Waco, Texas, New York-based singer/songwriter Jarrod Dickenson was first exposed to music via his father's record collection, listening to the Beatles, the Who, and the Rolling Stones before finding his way to classic American blues. Picking up the guitar at the age of 18, Dickenson started immediately writing his own material; while shifting his listening habits and focusing on the likes of Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, and Townes Van Zandt to inform his own songs. While in his final year at university, Dickenson wrote and recorded his debut album, 2008's Ashes on the Ground. Heading out in support of the release, he found himself in Nashville, where he recorded a handful of songs, including "Walking in Central Park." Dickenson entered the song in the 2011 Belfast Nashville Songwriters competition in Northern Ireland – he won the grand prize and headed to Europe to play in Belfast for the first time.
