Nonesuch releases the cast album for the current critically acclaimed Broadway production of David Byrne’s American Utopia, with music and lyrics by David Byrne; it is available digitally now. The two-CD version will be released on November 22 and is available to pre-order in the Nonesuch Store; the vinyl edition will be available this winter.

For all Byrne's other endeavours, music is the forum where his quirky, zany, challenging ideas achieve emotionally satisfying expression. This is the first solo release for the Talking Heads frontman in 14 years is part of a larger project called "Reasons to Be Cheerful" and features contributions from Brian Eno, Jam City, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Sampha. "American Utopia" is another glittering offering from an old master.

My Life in the Bush of Ghosts Both Brian Eno and David Byrne had, for a number of years, been interested in non- Western music styles, particularly those of sub-Saharan African of the Arabic cultural sphere; In the Talking Heads /Eno records, such influences function implicitly, but on the album 'My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts' they became explicit. Try! is the first live album by the John Mayer Trio. It was released by Columbia Records on November 22, 2005. The album was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards. The trio features John Mayer (guitar/lead vocals), Pino Palladino (bass), and Steve Jordan (drums/backup vocals). Unlike previous efforts by John Mayer, Try! focuses on popular blues renditions rather than adult-contemporary pop songs. The CD includes two cover songs, "Wait Until Tomorrow" by Jimi Hendrix, and "I Got a Woman" by Ray Charles; two of Mayer's previous album, Heavier Things' songs, "Daughters" and "Something's Missing"; and also showcased two songs from Mayer's then forthcoming album, Continuum, "Vultures" and "Gravity".

With his album ”Mozart", the oboist Albrecht Mayer has once again demonstrated the right flair for a unique album program: “excellently done”, says Rondo.

Jon was born in New York City in 1938. His mother studied classical music and practiced as he went to sleep each night. He was also exposed to jazz at an early age through recordings around the house of various big and small bands. Jon heard Charlie Parker play on a JATP (Jazz at the Philharmonic) concert recording and decided that Alto was his instrument. That lasted until the final year at the special music High School he attended. The piano became central in his life around then and his passion for the jazz being played around the city was all consuming.
