A limited edition of the Camaron de la Isla 'Integral' box-set. It represents a veritable journey through his life and singing. It includes 21 original albums. The first 17 of them were made in recording studios by Camaron from 1969 to 1992 while he was alive. The title of his new album in 1975 seems to indicate the path politics would take, because of its reference to "majestad" (majesty, or King). "Arte y majestad" is a work in the Camaron manner as few others -his styles and vocal twistings are presents in each track, although the authorship of the cuts is still signed by Antonio Sanchez. To prove it, all that is needed is to listen to the "soleares", "tarantas" (the credits say "tarantos"), "seguiriyas" and "bulerias", outstanding the one dedicated to his admired Curro Romero, in which Paco de Lucia gave a preview of some sounds from the coming "Almoraima".

The preparation of this cantata has its origin in the poetic text written by Luciano González Sarmiento in 2015, which served the libretto for the music composed by Tomás Marco the next year (2016). Organized in five episodes, The devastated island is a description of mankind in her decline, compelled to live in the loneliness of a devastated island, where she faces the agonizing dilemma between life and death, a dilemma solved by the loving experience reconstructed in the warm sea of the Nereids.

With the death from lung cancer of Camarón de la Isla (born José Monge Cruz) on July 2, 1992, flamenco lost one of its greatest vocalists. The son of a basket-maker, de la Isla revolutionalized the flamenco tradition with his contemporary-minded approach. His debut 1969 album, Con la Colaboracion Especial de Paco de Lucia, recorded with the accompaniment of virtuosic guitarist Paco de Lucia, remains one of flamenco's classic recordings. Although he retired from touring in 1979, de la Isla continued to produce groundbreaking albums. His 1980 album, La Leyenda del Tiempo – which was marked by rock, jazz, and Oriental influences and the use of non-flamenco instruments, including bass, drums, percussion, electric piano, Moog, keyboards, electric guitar, flute, and zither – sold nearly 6,000 copies. His 1989 recording, Soy Gitano, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, became the first album in Spain to be certified gold, with sales of 50,000 copies.
