FEUERSCHWANZ are set to release their new album Memento Mori on December 31, 2021. The new album will continue the success story of the medieval rockers from Germany / Franconia! On Memento Mori, FEUERSCHWANZ finally take a step away from the simpler humor of earlier days to become one of the most important bands in German folk rock. Fans of the band can look forward to an extensive deluxe edition of the album, which extends the running time of Memento Mori by almost double! Two additional CDs feature instrumental versions of all eleven tracks as well as the cover CD Die Glorreichen Sieben (The Magnificent Seven), which includes seven epic reissues from Amon Amarth to Die Ärzte and The Weeknd.
Senjutsu (Japanese: 戦術, loosely translated as "tactics and strategy") is the seventeenth studio album by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, due to be released on 3 September 2021. Senjutsu is the band's first studio album in nearly six years, following The Book of Souls (2015), marking the longest gap between two studio Iron Maiden albums. This is also their second double album and the second use of their original logotype (with the extended letters R, M and N) on the album cover since The X Factor (1995) (and following their previous use on The Book of Souls), as well as their first studio album since Powerslave (1984) to have no songwriting contributions from guitarist Dave Murray in any way, and the first since Virtual XI (1998) to feature multiple songs written by bassist Steve Harris alone. The name of the album is rendered on the right side of the cover art by the actual vertical Japanese spelling of "senjutsu" (戦術), and on the left side by a font reminiscent of Japanese characters.
Since releasing their self-titled debut album in 1995, Gov't Mule have remained close to their trademark bluesy hard rock roots. While they cover classic blues tunes regularly, they apply that musical signature. Heavy Load Blues marks the first time the quartet have recorded an album devoted strictly to blues. They cut it in one small room in a New England studio standing very close to one another – without headphones – using small vintage amplifiers. The band played stripped-down blues live from the studio floor; the few overdubs were added later. The 13-song standard version of the set offers six excellent Warren Haynes originals alongside covers by masters such as Ann Peebles, Howlin' Wolf, Elmore James, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and others. Haynes co-produced the set with John Paterno.
With 2020’s Sunset in the Blue singer Melody Gardot sinks into a dusky and languorously produced album that builds upon her love of jazz standards, Brazilian music, and intimate balladry. The record finds Gardot surrounded by a production dream team, including longtime associate Larry Klein, who helmed 2009’s My One and Only Thrill and 2015’s Currency of Man, as well as equally acclaimed studio pros, arranger Vince Mendoza and engineer Al Schmitt. Together, they have crafted a showcase for Gardot’s delicately nuanced vocal style. The album is an interesting dichotomy, at once intimate as if Gardot is singing to you in a small club, yet also widescreen, framing her hushed vocals in sweeping orchestrations that reinforce the romantic drama at play in the songs.
2CD Deluxe Edition Reissue. Australian singer/songwriter/guitarist Mark Edwards recorded his one and only solo album following the split of popular band The Runners. He signed with WEA Records and released the hit single 'Worlds Away' and the album 'Land Of The Living', delivering 3 other singles from the album. Also featured on the album is Michael Hegerty (Jimmy Barnes), acclaimed session drummer Ricki Fataar and legendary backing singer Venetta Fields (ex-Boz Scaggs, John Farnham) plus Sharon O'Neill. A true lost gem of guitar driven Aussie melodic rock.
