The Extremist is the fourth studio album by guitarist Joe Satriani, released on July 21, 1992 through Relativity Records The album is one of Satriani's most popular releases and his highest-charting to date, reaching No. 22 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and remaining on that chart for 28 weeks, as well as reaching the top 50 in six other countries. Three singles reached Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart: "Summer Song" at No. 5, "Friends" at No. 12 and "Cryin'" at No. 24. The Extremist was certified Gold on December 22, 1992 and received a nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 1993 Grammy Awards; this being Satriani's fourth such nomination.

G3: Rockin' in the Free World is a double live album by the G3 project that was recorded at The Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, on October 21, 2003. The album featured the touring lineup of the project leader Joe Satriani, frequent member Steve Vai and guest guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. G3 is a concert tour organized by guitarist Joe Satriani featuring him alongside two other guitarists. TD's 1987 studio album for Jive Electro, "Tyger", was surprising, as once again it featured vocals, this time sung by guest artist Jocelyn Bernadette Smith from New York who joined composers Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Paul Haslinger in Vienna and Berlin in February 1987 to transform a series of poems by the English mystic and painter William Blake (1757-1827) into songs.
In 1992 a different version was released in the USA with totally new cover artwork and a different track listing. While the title track "Tyger" was completely remixed, "Smile" was slightly faster (and hence shorter) than on the original release, and "Alchemy Of The Heart" was slightly abridged. Furthermore, the CD included the previously unreleased bonus track "Vigour".
