The Evpatoria Report was born in January 2002 and the band consists of two guitars, a bass, drums, a violin and a keyboard. The band offers an instrumental rock combining serenity, power and intensity. The Evpatoria Report is a brilliant band. Their music feels interstellar, putting you in the body of an astronaut as they float among the stars. It can be calming just as much as it is suspenseful while you sit in anticipation for the unknown. It is the flawlessness in how human this music sounds that makes this album so powerful. The songs are long, giving the music plenty of room to breathe and create tension and do with it as it pleases.
Its first release was a two-track EP in 2003, followed by two albums: "Golevka" in 2005 and "Maar" in 2008.

Chick Corea and John McLaughlin share one of the great pedigrees in the music of the 20th century: they were both key sidemen on Miles Davis' seminal albums In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew. They have played together since those heady days, as a duo or as sit-in guests. Five Peace Band was Corea's idea of putting together a dream band to play all kinds of jazz, and he approached McLaughlin. Corea chose the other members in saxophonist Kenny Garrett, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, and bassist Christian McBride…

"Friday Night In San Francisco" is widely considered the most influential of all live acoustic guitar albums. This primarily live and unprecedented set captured at San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre features the meeting of three legendary guitarists: John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Paco De Lucia. Its highlights include McLaughlin’s duet with De Lucia on the Gismonti tune, “Frevo Rasgado,” the breathtaking duet version of Chick Corea’s “Short Tales Of The Black Forest” and the studio version of McLaughlin’s “Guardian Angel.” Experience one of music’s most historic events in pristine hi-res. A fantastic meeting of 3 extraordinary guitarists is one of the most influential of all Live Acoustic guitar albums. This 1981 album by Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia recorded at The Warfield Theatre on December 5, 1980, in San Francisco. All tracks are live except for the last track, "Guardian Angel", which is the opening theme from a song that appears on McLaughlin's 1978 Electric Dreams album. This marked the triumph of the acoustic guitar trio as the first avant-garde style of flamenco jazz was forged. Their debut recording became a landmark recording that surpassed the two million mark in sales. This is an Audiophile Must-Have.

While it would be utterly foolish to consider a two-disc set by guitarist John McLaughlin as anything other than a sample of the wildly diverse career he's enjoyed since the early '60s, it should be noted and underscored that what Legacy does with this set is to provide a solid look at not only the man's gifts but at the way he's employed them, exploited them, and let them get the best of him for the past 40-plus years.

This album is from a pivotal moment in McLaughlin's history. This was just after he left Miles' group, but before Mahavishnu Orchestra started, and the music captures this moment perfectly. McLaughlin's technique had not progressed to "Mahavishnu" perfection yet, but the music has the in-your-face rock drive of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. This recording date grew out of sessions Alan Douglas put together, featuring McLaughlin and Larry Young jamming with Jimi Hendrix and Buddy Miles (Billy Rich was the bass player). McLaughlin sounded timid next to Hendrix (none of the material with Hendrix has been officially released), but really comes to life on Devotion. This is arguably one of the finest acid rock albums of all time. McLaughlin is on fire, using fuzzboxes and phasers, over Larry Young's swirling Hammond B-3, with Billy Rich and Buddy Miles as the rock-solid rhythm section…
