En 2019 Yvan Cassar revisitait 12 standards de Johnny Hallyday prolongeant les 20 années de leur collaboration artistique sur scène et en studio. Résultat : bientôt 500.000 albums vendus. En 2020 l’histoire continue et après « Diégo, libre dans sa tête » c’est aujourd’hui : « Je te promets », « Le Pénitencier », « La musique que j’aime » ou « Laura » qu’Yvan Cassar revisite.

At the dawn of the 1970s, Johnny Hallyday's new album: Vie brought music, ranging from classical to progressive rock, including folk and pop. Alongside this album, we find the 45rpm of the year as well as alternative versions taken from the recording sessions.

After the 'Plus près de vous' tour came to an end, Johnny wanted to keep a memory of his reunion with Bercy, where he had not sung for 15 years. The last two dates of December 20 and 21 are captured but the images remain blocked. Deprived of this recording, fans demonstrate, going so far as to draft a petition gathering several thousand signatures. That went unanswered - until now!

This new release ranges from blues to straight-ahead to post-bop to pop tunes to ballads, each one fully explored and deftly illuminated by O’Neal and his electrifying bandmates, bassist Ben Rubens and drummer Itay Morchi. Unlike most of his past recordings, it shows off several of O’Neal’s own compositions, some of which date back more than 20 years but have never been recorded. This is Johnny O’Neal's first studio album in 15 Years! Iconic Pianist/Vocalist overcomes struggle by choosing to embrace every precious moment. This performance features Roy Hargrove and Grant Stewart as special guests.

Les fans de la rockstar, morte le 5 décembre 2017 à 74 ans des suites d’un cancer, qui étaient des centaines de milliers à affluer des quatre coins de l’Hexagone quelques jours plus tard pour lui rendre un vibrant hommage populaire à Paris, seront tout aussi nombreux à se procurer son 51e album.
