This compact disc consists of very rare and historical musical moments from the personal archives of the late great Johnny Winter. Some of the source tapes were not made on the most advanced equipment of the day, but just to have a glimpse into the power of these rare live performances, makes this an enjoyable Johnny Winter experience.

Roberts).

The Bootleg Series Vol. 13: Trouble No More 1979–1981 is a set of recordings from 1979 to 1981 by Bob Dylan, set to be released on Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings on November 3, 2017. It showcases the music Dylan wrote and performed during the so-called Christian period, covering the albums Slow Train Coming, Saved and Shot of Love.

Bob Dylan converted to Christianity in 1979. Like many who have been born again, Dylan spoke and sang solely of his faith for a brief period – roughly half a year, beginning in November of 1979 and ending in May of 1980. Facing a fan base who were generally furious at his newfound religion, Dylan started to thread some oldies into his set lists but he didn't leave gospel behind until he released Infidels in 1983.

With a fast, gritty, and furious slide and electric guitar style, Johnny Winter fused the blues to its rock nephew and became a white guitar legend (an albino one, no less, further adding to his stage allure) with his albums and live performances in the 1970s. This set collects some of the best of those performances at shows played between 1969 and 1977, including soaring versions of Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited," the Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode," all of which helped set the stage for later guitar slingers like Stevie Ray Vaughan and others.

Johnny Winter assembled Live in NYC '97 with assistance of his fan club, drawing all of the recordings from an April 1997 performance at the Bottom Line. Produced by Winter's longtime colleague Dick Shurman, the record doesn't follow the predictable pattern of a live album - instead of hits, it offers fan favorites and covers, which makes for a much more interesting listen. Throughout the album, Winter simply rips, tearing through all five songs with blistering energy. This is the live album hardcore fans have been wanting for years, and it doesn't fail to deliver on its promise.

Recorded at a 1969 Johnny Winter concer in Houston, Johnny and his regular band members (brother Edgar, I.P. Sweat, Uncle John Turner) display the honed-to-perfection combination of blues with rock that ws catapulting Johnny to stardom at tis very time in music history. No longer was he merely a regional blues man doing old favorites for a cult following; Johnny was blazing forth with a totally new sound that captured big audiences everywhere.
