Julien Pras, leader of the French bands Calc, Mars Red Sky… is known to be an expert in the art of romanticizing personal tragedies in beautiful and melancholic pop songs, for over 15 years.

At the court of Versailles, the daughters of Louis XV (referred to as 'Mesdames'), and in particular Adélaïde, devoted themselves to a regular practice of music and, apparently, demonstrated talent. Numerous composers (Simon, Rameau, Balbastre, Cardonne, Guignon) played for them, worked with them, and dedicated several works to them. 'À Madame, Divertissement pour Adélaïde', is an anthology, subjectively put together, of compositions that resounded in their drawing room. All the works on this programme are world premieres. These lovely, rare nuggets are mixed with a the marvellous carillons of the Marc-Antoine Le Nepveu clock (currently in the Cabinet de la Méridienne, located at the heart of the palace of Versailles, on the first floor).

On the advice of his father, the young Mozart, 21 years old, went with his mother to Mannheim in 1777. This city at the time was one of the most famous European musical capitals. There were outstanding instrumentalists, patrons, an extraordinary orchestra, everything the young composer needed to expand his contacts, and find a stable profession as a composer in Mannheim. Once he arrived, he met the Weber sisters, Josepha, Aloysia and Constanze. Three muses with whom Mozart would fall in love successively, but only one was to be promised to him: Constanze. They were the love triangle of Mozart, and he dedicated the sublime Vorrei spiegarvi, oh Dio! to the soprano, Aloysia.

In his latest album, flutist Julien Beaudiment explores the versatility and expressive range of Mozart’s music for flute, drawing listeners into a repertoire shaped by love, loss, and fidelity.

In this highly original programme, Julien Libeer and his partners bring us the smile and the light of Mozart: an absolutely radiant sonata for solo piano, a sonata for violin and piano in which joy triumphs over anxiety, a flamboyant trio from the time of Le nozze di Figaro, to say nothing of the Piano Quartet K478, a rare combination that allows the composer to play around on the frontiers of the concerto and chamber music. All of this in a surprising dramatic progression!

After making a record, and touring, with boygenius—her super-group collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus—you might expect Julien Baker to be itchy to return to her solo career. Instead, the guitar god is still in teamwork mode and has joined forces with singer-songwriter TORRES (née Mackenzie Ruth Scott) for a classic country record, rather than pandering to new fans who fell for the "boys" on Taylor Swift's "Eras" tour. Both TORRES and Baker have flirted with country before, but here they go all the way, their way.
