«Hva nå, Ekko?» (“What now, Ekko?”) tells the story about Ekko that is unhappily in love with Narcissus. She follows him wherever he goes, and has neither her own thoughts or opinions. After a while it feels meaningless, and Ekko starts to wonder what happens if she stops to repeat what other people say. What shall she say then? And does she need to follow Narcissus that anyway just cares about himself? The music explores Ekko´s feelings and possibilities, and the unpredictability of the improvisational music is a parallel to an echo that speaks freely. What happens then?

February 2nd marks the release of Liv Andrea Hauge Trio's first studio album, "Ville Blomster" (Wild Flowers). The trio's debut album, "Live from St. Hanshaugen," was recorded in Liv's living room just a week after they started playing together. In contrast, "Ville Blomster" represents the result of a year of frequent touring, practice, and studio time. The trio has developed its own expression, allowing room for exploration and improvisation. The title "Ville blomster" symbolizes the wild and improvised side of their music, along with the beautiful and simple melodic elements (the flowers) that stand out.

Siril Malmedal Hauge and Kjetil Mulelid have made themselves known individually in the Norwegian music scene in recent years with active touring, a Norwegian Grammy nomination, and several praised album releases from the worldwide press.

This stand-out, intimate jazz-duo recording features the haunting vocals of Siril Malmedal Hauge - a 25 year old sensation from the small island, Sula, on the Norwegian North-West peninsula. And the guitar artistry of Jacob Young, internationally known and critically acclaimed for his work with his groups on three releases for ECM Records. The production of the album is sober and transparant and really shows the strenght of Sirils phrasing and delivery of intertextual meaning - or storytelling. The album consists of 10 songs penned by both legendary and contemporaries composers like Lennon - McCartney “I Will”, “Lilac Wine” James Shelton, “Skylark” Hoagy Charmichael and fellow Norwegian composer Bendik Hofseth on a rendition of his beautiful song "Deep River". This is the third album from the local Oslo label, Oslo Session Recordings - once again they present us with something different - a jazzalbum that even pop music lovers will accept and can embrace.

The critically acclaimed duo made their debut in 2018 with the album Last things on Oslo Session Recordings, which received international praise. This is the duo's second album.

Siril Malmedal Hauge's Jazzland debut, "Uncharted Territory" is a perfect blend of pop energy and accessibility with jazz, rock, Americana and singer-songwriter sensibilities, bursting with melodic freshness. Featuring Siril's beautiful, clear and expressive voice, the songs balance commercial exuberance with intelligence, both musically and lyrically. Themes both weighty and feather-light are given the appropriate treatments and settings. The moods are many, with variations of light and shade, but a sense of positivity glistens from every song.
