The story begins with the goo eating a time machine, causing him to be sent back in time. Playing as the goo, you’ll eat your way through six different time periods: modern, Late Cretaceous (i.e. dinosaurs), Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Feudal Japan, and the distant future. Each time period features a unique set of objects for you to eat. Mice, cats, Tyrannosaurus Rex, mummies, gladiators, and flying saucers are just a few of the hundreds of objects available for consumption.

Planet 51, the white picket-fence world reminiscent of 1950s America is happy, safe and predictable until the unpredictable happens! Out of the blue, Captain Charles Chuck Baker's spaceship comes crashing down. Unaware of his surroundings, Chuck begins to realise that he is not alone. But your appetite got bigger! Out of the bathroom, you move onto bugs, fish, mice, cats, dogs, cars, trees, houses?everything you can imagine. Soon, you will consume the entire planet! Once you are done eating everything on earth, you need to look elsewhere for food. Launch into orbit where the munching continues with tasty treats like meteoroids, satellites and astronauts. After eating all that you travel even further into deep space where a limitless galactic buffet awaits you. Well… even the universe has limits. You'll just have to eat them.
