Canadian Progressive Rock band HUIS will release its second studio album, “Neither in Heaven”, on May 1st, 2016. The follow-up to 2014’s “Despite Guardian Angels” was produced by Huis bassist and songwriter Michel Joncas, with mixing duties provided by Guitarist songwriter Michel St-Pere (also from the band MYSTERY) at Studio Illusion 4, and mastering handled by Richard Addison at Trillium Sound in Montreal.

Dutch Neo Progsters TRIANGLE were formed as Square The Circle in 1993 in Rotterdam by guitarist Roland van der Stoep and bassist Jan-Willem Verkerk, both coming from the group Barock, and drummer Paul van der Zwaal, who used to play drums with Dune. The group had an intense live activity around the local area, despite failing to stabilize a solid formation. Eventually things would become better by mid-90's, when keyboardist Martijn Paasschens and singer John Baljeu joined the rest.

In their own ways, Zidane and Les Revenants are some of Mogwai's finest work, so it makes sense that Atomic – an album based on their music for the BBC 4 documentary Atomic: Living in Dread and Promise and their first release after the departure of John Cummings – follows suit. The band's tenth album recalls not only Zidane and Les Revenants but the fearsome sweep of Jóhann Jóhannsson's Fordlandia, another unflinching look at humankind's capacity to discover and create equally constructive and destructive technology.

Unreleased material from a really wonderful group – one that features killer alto work from the great Sonny Red – working here in the same kind of small group setting he brought to late 60s performances with Donald Byrd! Yet this time around, the trumpeter is Blue Mitchell – who blows with a lot more bite than on some of his records of the time – really taking his time to craft out long solos on the very extended tracks from this live performance – reminding us that he can be a hell of a creative soloist when not caught up in some of the larger arrangements that would mark some points of his career!

Formed in May 2009 and boasting current and ex members of notable modern Italian progressive groups such as Il Bacio della Medusa, Taproban, DAAL, The Watch and Prowlers, Fufluns (named after the Etruscan God of nature, health and growth in all things) is led by Medusa frontman Simone Cecchini, and the group perform melodic song-based Italian pieces in a lightly symphonic prog manner fused with gentle traces of the Italian canzone d'autore (singer-songwriter) storytelling tradition and plenty of that pure RPI fire worked in as well. Instrumental passages are frequent, but the tune itself is always the most important facet, and it makes for an interesting and beautifully played debut work full of character and charm.

Midwest Farmer's Daughter isn't merely an autobiographical title for the retro country singer/songwriter Margo Price, it's a nice tip of the hat to one of her primary inspirations, Loretta Lynn. The connections between the two country singers don't end there. Toward the end of her career, the Coal Miner's Daughter wound up collaborating with Jack White for 2004's Van Lear Rose, and White's Third Man Records provides a launching pad for Price, releasing her self-financed solo debut as-is as Midwest Farmer's Daughter.

Paper is the debut solo album from Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson. This album contains brand new material along with songs that were initially written for Robinson's 2002-2003 project, Hookah Brown. Robinson handled guitar, bass, and other instruments as well as taking over the lead vocals, with the gaps being filled in by Joe Magistro (drums), Eddie Harsch (keyboards, credited as Eddie Hawrsch), Donnie Herron (fiddle, violin) and his son Taylor Robinson (percussion).

When Vilde Frang programs violin concertos in unexpected pairs, such as her 2010 coupling of Jean Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D minor with Sergey Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major, or her 2012 disc of Carl Nielsen's Violin Concerto matched against Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major, the results are quite fascinating. For this 2016 release on Warner Classics, Frang plays the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 of Erich Wolfgang Korngold and the Violin Concerto, Op. 15 of Benjamin Britten, and the works invite comparisons because they are so dramatically different.

Preservation Records proudly presents the official re-release of the westcoast masterpiece: Face To the Sea by the group Westpoint. Recorded in 1983, and is considered an essential album that represents the westcoast genre. Finally it gets the right treatment; remastered from the orignal mastertapes, jewelcase.
