The blues is the root of (almost) all popular American music.

TajMo marks a timely convergence of the talents of two unique American artists who've already built iconoclastic individual legacies that have extended and expanded blues traditions into adventurous new territory. The collaboration brings out the best in both artists, with the pair merging their distinctive voices, personalities and guitar styles to create vibrant, immediate music that's firmly rooted in tradition yet ruled by a playful sense of adventure. The album features guest appearances by Sheila E., Joe Walsh, Lizz Wright and Bonnie Raitt, who lends her voice to a distinctive cover of John Mayer's anthemic 'Waiting on the World to Change'.

A one-night-only concert was held at New York City's Town Hall last fall, to celebrate the music of the Coen brothers film "Inside Llewyn Davis". The evening was filmed for a documentary that was broadcast by Showtime last winter, and now Nonesuch Records releases a live recording of the concert, Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of “Inside Llewyn Davis”. The concert, documentary, and live album were produced by the film writer/director/producers Joel and Ethan Coen and soundtrack producer T Bone Burnett.

It certainly has been a long time coming but September 22, 2017 will finally see the release of Get What You Deserve, the mesmerizing new album from legendary vocalist Sweet Pea Atkinson. A jovial blend of Blues, R&B, Soul, Funk and more, Get What You Deserve will be released on Blue Note Records and will be accompanied by tour dates across the U.S. this Fall.

Blues Traveler has announced the release of their new studio album Traveler’s Blues on Round Hill Records, a collection of re-imagined and re-charged classics from The American Blues Songbook, set for release on July 30, 2021.

A name like B.B. Driftwood might lead you to assume that the bearer is a good old Southern bluesman, and this SACD's title wouldn't change that impression. But Driftwood, whose real name is Bengt Skoghoft, is about as far from the Southern US as could be. Yet, listening to Southward Bound, one hears echoes of the South and the style of another Opus 3 artist, Eric Bibb - not a bad starting point. But Driftwood is definitely his own man. He wrote all the songs on this album, and unlike Bibb he adds a slight rock 'n' roll edge to his basic blues base. He also throws in a dash of gospel, country, and R&B. Along with the catchy tunes, these help keep the music fresh and interesting.
