DEEP STRINGS WITH A FLAVOUR OF THE ORIENT. The Oud is an old Persian string instrument with many nylon strings. We have succeeded in giving it a modern expression in addition to the organic sound and feel. The Oud has a brilliant oriental sound which we have enriched with many small features. We are happy to put out a versatile instrument with lots of possibilities.

Here comes the grandmother of the guitar. The Oud! Oud is an over 1000 years old fretless oriental string instrument that has been considered as the grandmother of the guitar. The sound of the Oud is very ancient, big, round, and emotional. It is a 6 String (Double-Strung) Fretless guitar with a big round-back that is the ancient form of the Guitar. It has an earthy mid sound that can put you easily back in the ancient times.

We sampled this wonderful instrument about 15 years ago for Giga Sampler and it was the biggest Virtual Oud Instrument available at that time (maybe still) with over 1GB! 24Bit/96kHz Stereo Samples and up to 7 Velocity Layers.

In the Medieval period, it was the most important instrument for secular music. But it is also used in score music, such as in the Jim Jarmusch's movie "Only Lovers Left Alive”.
