Mangestu is the 1991 debut album from Japanese singer Michiru Akiyoshi, who became better known as Monday Michiru, daughter of jazz musicians Toshiko Akiyoshi and Charlie Mariano. Released by Virgin/EMI, she began as a pop artist showing hints of soul and rap before moving more into jazz and acid jazz later in the 1990's and 21st century. One of the songs also features DJ Krush and Muro helping her out in her one rap song.
