‘Duality’ accurately reflects the circumstances LP Duo have been finding themselves in throughout their career leading up to today. It’s not meant to depict a priori opposites, such as black and white, digital vs. analogue or male and female so much as to express those kinds of opposites that exist in parallel, yet together. With ‘Duality’, LP Duo are trying to venture deeper into questioning these sorts of relationships, as well as into that moment where the occasional balance is achieved. The album features six original compositions written, arranged, produced and performed by LP Duo.

It wasn’t until the end of the 1920s that professional duo-piano teams became a regular part of the concert scene with the emergence of Bartlett and Robertson, followed by Vronsky and Babin a bit later, and finally, in 1936, Luboshutz and Nemenoff.

One’s first thought would be that this would be a first recording of any of this music, but it turns out that on the contrary the Bach Op 15 #5 has been popular and frequently heard on harpsichords for some time now, since the original release of the Puyana/Galvez recording on Mercury LP, and now available on CD. This may be a first recording on pianos, although I think I recall one on MHS LP some years ago.

Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Bill Evans featuring the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (compatible with standard CD players) and the latest 24bit/96kHz digital remastering. Part of a 5-album Bill Evans SHM-CD cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring albums "I Will Say Goodbye," "Alone (Again)," "Intuition," "Re: Person I Knew," and "Jazzhouse." After seven years of their close relationship in his trio, Bill Evans in 1974 finally realized his dream of recording a duo album with bassist Eddie Gomez. Intuition is that album. One of the most brilliant of the young bassists influenced by Scott LaFaro, Gomez continued development of the role of the bass in Evans's trio as a fully contributory voice, not just a member of the rhythm section.

Kooper Session is the second-in-line of the Super Session albums featuring singer-songwriter Al Kooper. Joining Kooper in the guitar slot is 15-year-old phenomenon Shuggie Otis, son of legendary rhythm and blues pioneer Johnny Otis. Divided into two halves, "The Songs" (a quartet of arranged gospel and rhythm and blues tracks) and "The Blues" (a trio of improvised blues tracks), the album, like Super Session before it, was quickly recorded and featured short, succinct tracks ("Double or Nothing", "One Room Country Shack") and fluid, drawn out jams highlighting the talents of the artists ("12:15 Slow Goonbash Blues", "Bury My Body").
