Nous sommes de la génération Mitterrand, du sida et du chômage de masse, nous sommes d'une génération qui cherche bien plus que des repères car elle se cherche toute entière. Nous posons une question simple : que signifie être de gauche aujourd'hui ?
Le film tente de répondre à cette question essentielle en interrogeant de grandes figures de la pensée contemporaine. De la disparition de l'URSS à la dernière crise financière, Après la gauche est un voyage à travers 20 années qui ont bouleversé la gauche mais c'est surtout, un acte de résistance.
