The Albums Vol. 2 1979-1989 is the second of two box sets that cover the band's first 20 years, starting with 1979's Ladies Night, up to and including Sweat (1989), as well as three extra discs in "7" Singles Selection" and "12" Singles Selection #1 and #2", which also contains non-album tracks. TED MULRY first came to the attention of the music industry when he sent a demo of some of his own compositions to Albert Productions in Sydney. The company persuaded him to become a recording artist and he soon rose to fame as a solo singer/songwriter with his own composition, the pop ballad “Julia”, which made the Australian charts in 1970.
He followed that with “Falling in Love Again”, a song by The Easybeats songwriting team Harry Vanda & George Young, which was a major hit in 1971.Mulry was a prolific songwriter, and a number of bands and artists, including John Farnham and Alison MacCallum, recorded his songs. Most notably, rock band Sherbet had a hit with his song, “You’re All Woman”.

Formed as a jazz ensemble in the mid-'60s, Kool & the Gang became one of the most inspired and influential funk units during the '70s, and one of the most popular R&B groups of the '80s after their breakout hit "Celebration." Just as funky as James Brown or Parliament (and sampled almost as frequently), Kool & the Gang relied on their jazz backgrounds and long friendship to form a tightly knit group with the interplay and improvisation of a jazz outfit, plus the energy and spark of a band with equal ties to soul, R&B, and funk.

Cherish is a 1993 live album by American R&B band Kool & The Gang. It is a legitimate live recording although the lack of information on the packaging makes everything unknown. "Get Down On It" is listed as "Get Down" while the encore of "Let's Go Dancin' (Ooh La, La, La)" is listed as "Encore: Ooh La, La, La". This was released by K Point Gold to the Czech Republic & Slovakia markets.

Get Down On It, The Very Best Of Kool & The Gang is a 2000 European compilation CD by American soul group Kool & The Gang. This was released by Mercury Records and features primarily their 80's hit songs with vocalist J.T. Taylor but it also features a few of their hit songs before, including "Ladies Night", "Too Hot", "Open Sesame" and "Jungle Boogie".
