Lucie et ses deux collègues s'interrogent et décident de mener leur enquête… A midi, elles pique-niquent à côté, au "SQUARE DES FRANCINE". Là, les amoureux graves, les solitaires enjoués, joueurs de tous âges, tournent autour du joyeux jet d'eau. La ronde continue en face, au magasin "BRICO-DREAM" où, sous les conseils plus ou moins compétents d'une équipe de vendeurs en sur-effectif, les clients calculent, échafaudent, tendus, angoissés, ayant peur de repartir avec des étagères trop courtes, des vis trop longues… A la fin du jour, aurons-nous croisé l"'homme seul" parmi la multitude de ces personnages affairés ?

L'alunissage de la capsule Apollo XI, les premiers pas d'Armstrong sur le sol lunaire… : ces images, nous avons l'habitude de les voir sous forme d'extraits de quelques minutes. Pour la première fois, un film propose de les découvrir dans leur longueur, telles qu'elles apparaissaient dans les moniteurs de la salle de contrôle de Cap Canaveral. On découvre ainsi "en temps réel" les déplacements des trois astronautes à l'intérieur du module, le survol de la surface de la Lune à la recherche de la mer de la Tranquillité, les astronautes descendant l'échelle du module lunaire et posant le premier pied sur le sol, les manipulations diverses qu'ils effectuent hors du module, leur attitude de respect à l'écoute du président Nixon qui les félicite… Le montage conserve le caractère brut des images et restitue de façon formidable l'atmosphère hypnotique de cette nuit-là.

In "Sloth," a movie star would rather pay someone to tie his shoe than bend over to do it himself, and he can't be bothered to accept a starlet's sexual favors. In "Gluttony," a peasant family on its way to the funeral of a relative who died from indigestion stops regularly to eat and drink en route, arriving in time to eat some more. In "Greed," a high-class prostitute refunds the price of a cadet's lottery ticket. In "Pride," an unfaithful wife finds reason to reform. And so on through lust and envy.

Christophe Rousset plays Rameau’s instrumental transcription of Les Indes Galantes on the stunning 18th century Jean-Henry Hemsch harpsichord. Public disapproval to the premiere of the opéra-ballet led to Rameau not only omitting the recitatives and its controversial passages, but to transcribing the whole work for instruments. He re-grouped the remaining pieces according to their keys into what he called ‘quatre grands concerts’ or concert suites.
