Observe the Silence marks a new step in Greg Lamy’s career. A formula tightened around an always more united trio, joined for the occasion by Franco-Serbian pianist Bojan Z, who managed to subtly appropriate the compositions of the guitarist from Luxembourg.

This project showcases a union between two artists expressing their infinite love of the piano after years of joint concerts and international collaboration.

Star pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard presents an anthology from György Kurtág’s Játékok (Games), recorded in the composer’s presence and under his artistic guidance. In his extensive series of Játékok, Kurtág realizes the spontaneity of a child exploring the piano with the compositional means of his adventurous, avant-garde idiom. Recording such an extensive collection of Játékok is an important statement for Aimard, who has developed an intimate artistic friendship with the composer over decades.

The writings of Joseph Campbell on “following one’s bliss” form the driving idea behind this collection of new pieces by Toronto based musician Eric St-Laurent. With plenty of time set aside to write, undisturbed and outside of the world’s fast pace of change, editing and mixing over several months, every step of the production was slow, deliberate. The set was conceived with featured guest trumpeter (and long-time friend) Sebastian Studnitzky in mind. His soft, reflective tone lends an introspective quality to the recording. The fiery rhythm section of Michel DeQuevedo (percussion) and Jordan O’Connor (bass) provide a muscular counterpoint,
