Amelie is a story about a girl named Amelie whose childhood was suppressed by her Father's mistaken concerns of a heart defect. With these concerns Amelie gets hardly any real life contact with other people. This leads Amelie to resort to her own fantastical world and dreams of love and beauty. She later on becomes a young woman and moves to the central part of Paris as a waitress. After finding a lost treasure belonging to the former occupant of her apartment, she decides to return it to him. After seeing his reaction and his new found perspective - she decides to devote her life to the people around her. Such as, her father who is obsessed with his garden-gnome, a failed writer, a hypochondriac, a man who stalks his ex girlfriends, the "ghost", a suppressed young soul, the love of her life and a man whose bones are as brittle as glass. But after consuming herself with these escapades…

Parmi les représentations conservées d’elle figure le magnifique Autoportrait au chapeau de paille peint en 1782, après un voyage à Anvers, où elle découvre le génie de Rubens. Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun (1755-1842) est alors au sommet de son art. À une époque où la peinture relève presque exclusivement de la sphère masculine, elle s’impose comme l’une des meilleures portraitistes de son temps, elle "qui savait si bien embellir les visages et exprimer les âmes", confie une spécialiste. Enfant prodige formée par son père, elle a débuté à 14 ans.

L'éléphant Siam naît en Inde en 1946 et travaille tout d'abord dans des exploitations forestières. Il est ensuite racheté par le cirque Knie, en Suisse, puis est utilisé pour les besoins du film «Yoyo» avec Pierre Etaix, avant de rejoindre le zoo de Vincennes. En 1997, il décède mais est naturalisé. Il rejoint le Museum d'histoire naturelle de Paris en 2001, où il enrichit le cortège des animaux de la Grande Galerie de l'Evolution. Un petit garçon, fasciné par ce mastodonte de 3,07 mètres au garrot, plus vrai que nature, se laisse conter son incroyable histoire, pleine d'aventures, par le gardien du musée.

Aber das Sofa steht jetzt nicht mehr in einem Wohnzimmer, sondern am Straßenrand. Es ist Sperrmüll in Bodenheim am Rhein. Regina Leupold räumt ihre Praxis und ihre Wohnung, denn sie "verkleinert sich", wie sie sagt. Der Gedanke, dass alles auf dem Müll landet, tut weh. Doch in Regina Leupolds neuem Zuhause ist kein Platz….

One woman decides to change the world by changing the lives of the people she knows in this charming and romantic comic fantasy from director Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
