Lean Production

Lean Production wurde für die Großserienfertigung entwickelt und ist zum weltweiten Standard geworden. Die Stückzahlen vieler Produkte werden jedoch kleiner und die Vielfalt größer. Die Kunden erwarten maßgeschneiderte Lösungen zu Preisen wie aus der Massenfertigung.

No production is perfect. Waste always creeps into the processes, makes them slow, sluggish and expensive. Parts and material pile up in the warehouse, production takes place in unnecessarily large batches, transport is taking time, employees wait unproductively for their next task or products ship too late. The result is high production costs and disappointed customers.

In diesem Buch werden bemerkenswerte, aus der betrieblichen Praxis abgeleitete Lösungen des Toyota Produktionssystems (TPS) und des Materialflusses vorgestellt. Grundlegende und weiterentwickelte Steuerungsverfahren mit Kanban ermöglichen vielfältige Konzepte. Hybrides MRP-Kanban erlaubt einen hohen Umsetzungsgrad und den Einsatz in untypischen Anwendungsbereichen, etwa im Ersatzteilbereich, der Einzelstückfertigung oder im Supply Chain Management.

The book is divided into three parts.
Part I. The Rising economy of “one” gives an overview of what is changing in the social system of production, it refers to the weakening role of central planning and the rising power of individuation in the value creation chain.

The book addresses a modern reorientation of Lean, abandoning the classical waste dogma that brings direct efficiency gains and substituting by a way to achieving indirect efficiency in a continuous and sustainable manner. Waste is the output of a process that cannot be of further use, while value is a matter of valuation, a process whose output we conceive to be of further use. Value and waste are not antithetical, they are just not comparable issues.
