Designed as a companion to Bruce Springsteen's 2016 memoir Born to Run, Chapter & Verse provides something of an aural autobiography, tracing Springsteen's development from a Jersey garage rocker into one of the great American songwriters. Springsteen compiled the 18-track disc himself, intending his selection to mirror the themes in his book, so he balances epics with intimate miniatures since both kinds of songs can capture his quests for deliverance and escape. He alternates his well-known anthems ("Born to Run," "Badlands," "Born in the USA"), with a few other popular singles ("Brilliant Disguise," "The Rising") and a host of deep cuts, all of which tend to downplay both his romantic and hard-rocking sides.
On the new album: A fantastic new album from one of the best German Bands. Fire From The Soul combines all elements you can expect from a new Epitaph album in 2016: singing twin-guitars and sparkling rock songs with choral singing for several voices. This album is surprising all along the line through the steady quality from first to last song…

The 70 operas by Ferdinando Bertoni (1725 - 1813) are almost all forgotten, except for his Orfeo. The opera is based on the same libretto as Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, and was also composed for the same castrato, Gaetano Guadagni. Unlike Gluck however Bertoni created a true-opera scenario, which celebrates its rediscovery here in this recording with Vivica Genaux.

Karmakanic is the project of The Flower Kings bassist Jonas Reingold.
This time, Jonas Reingold added plenty of musicians to help him make this album, a concept about the evolution of the universe. We are in the usual style of symphonic prog rock that doesn't shy away from the Jazz and the heavy prog which gives to the music both vintage and modern sound. It starts really in a big fashion with the epic "God The Universe and…." 24 minutes of pure symphonic prog going into different moods with crunchy guitars, delicate piano and that Jonas tasty fretless bass. The vocals are beautiful with a lot of vocalists contributing. "Higher ground" starts innocently but take a rather heavy twist in the middle to end peacefully with those vocals harmonies…
On her two albums with Portland dream-pop trio Blouse, Charlie Hilton sang spectral, spindly songs that bear a mortal burden. On Palana, her solo debut, Hilton turns her gaze to a renewable kind of death: that of our morphing identities.
Brutal and fast death-metal with twisted double-tracked vocals from Kam Lee, resulting in a cross between Mercyful Fate and Death. The deadliest of death-metal always comes from Florida, and this is no exception.
