For Tales from the Austin Motel, Debbie Davies temporarily ditched her touring band and teamed up with drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon, better known as the rhythm section of Stevie Ray Vaughan's legendary supporting group, Double Trouble. The intention was to craft a tribute album to their influences and collegues – namely, the Texas blues giants Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan. The trio tackles a number of covers, including such standards as "I Want to Be Loved" and "I Just Want to Make Love to You," but the majority of the album is devoted to Davies originals. They're all solid, journeyman songs – nothing too special, but nothing bad, either.

A specially curated CD entitled Memory Motel offers a glimpse Inside the World of Keith Richards: 15 Tracks from his friends, Heroes and Soulmates and includes tracks from Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Patti Labelle & the Blue Belles and Funkadelic, to name a few.

They’ve become the all-encompassing alt-reality that the band built themselves, for everyone else. So, in essence, Bobby is Pottery and his motel is wherever they are.

Features nine new original Cash Box Kings songs hotwiring the classic juke-joint sound for the modern day. The band also breathes new life into Muddy Waters’ “Please Have Mercy” and Sonny Boy Williamson’s “Pontiac Blues.” Chicago blues diva Deitra Farr and Memphis blues great John Nemeth guest. “Oscar Wilson’s powerful and deep voice harkens back to the golden age of Chicago blues.
