There's a reason Benny Goodman was hailed as the "King of Swing." He really did have one of tightest, swingin'-est bands in the mid-1930s. As a clarinetist he was brilliant. He hired terrific singers. He recorded many of the era's top songs. Yes, you get three CDs packed with a total of 64 tracks and close to four hours of music. Yes, many of Benny's big "hits" are here ("Goody Goody," "Let's Dance," "There's a Small Hotel," etc.). It's a mixture of commercial recordings, radio "airchecks," and live concert performances (including a few tracks from the famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Concert).
