Liam Gallagher‘s new album, Why Me? Why Not., has been announced and will be released in September via the newly-rebranded Warner Records.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is the eponymous release from the solo project of the former Oasis legend, and the first after his acrimonious split from the aforementioned band. Working in both London and Los Angeles between 2010 and 2011, with frequent collaborator Dave Sardy serving as co-producer, Gallagher utilized the talents of now bandmates Jeremy Stacey (drums), Lenny Castro (percussion) and Mike Rowe (keyboards) for the album.
Originally streamed on December 5, 2020, the show became one of the most memorable performances of the lockdown era. Liam followed the precedent set by the Sex Pistols and The Clash, and decided to hit the River Thames, armed with a boatload of attitude, a phenomenal live band (including Bonehead) and an arsenal of classic songs. Acclaim included a four-star review from i, who declared the show to be, “A reminder of why the younger Gallagher is now the fans’ favourite.”
'Acoustic Sessions' features eight-live tracks and consists of stripped-back versions of songs from his recent album, 'Why Me? Why Not? 'Now That I've Found You', 'Once', 'Alright Now' and 'Meadow' all appear alongside new re-workings of Oasis classics 'Cast No Shadow' and 'Stand By Me' and a demo version of 'Once.'
