"Live in Brazil" Everyone knows the Samba is the National Dance of Brazil - but that changed in 2012 when André Rieu played his first ever concert series in Brazil's hustling and bustling commercial capital of Sao Paulo. "it's a record. A sold-out concert thirty times in one city. We are really proud of that. So many memories of people waltzing, the laughter, the tears of the Brazilians. We will never forget all that." And it's one of Andre many talents that he always finds the right mix between classics and hidden gems of his genre like "Nessun Dorma", his signature tune "The Beautiful Blue Danube" or "Ballad For Adeline" while tapping into the rich tradition of local repertoire. For "Live In Brazil" that ranges from "Manha de Carnaval" to the 2012 global smash "Ai Seu Te Pego" keeping the audience off their seats and dancing in the aisles for long stretches of the 90 minutes of the show..

As always with André, ‘WONDERFUL WORLD’ is a brilliant product, bringing you a fabulous summer evening concert in Maastricht. The Platinum Tenors sing a world-famous aria from Georges Bizet’s ‘The Pearl Fishers’ and the well-known ‘Amor, vida de mi vida’. Carmen Monarcha shines as Madam Butterfly, Donij Van Doorn sings the Vilja song with great passion and Mirusia Louwerse steals everyone’s heart with a song from ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.

A "triumph of remembrance," wrote Die Welt following this stirring concert given by the Berliner Philharmoniker under Seiji Ozawa and with Anne-Sophie Mutter as soloist. It left its audience hovering between hushed reverence and deafening exultation. The Golden Hall of Vienna's Musikverein was the dazzling venue for the live recoding of this concert celebrating the 100th anniversary of Herbert Von Karajan's birth. And Karajan's "Berliners" never sounded better, according to the Frankfuter Allgemeine Zeitung, evoking "a time which self-confidently sought the private and subjective in music, and believed it could find them in the mirror of the works."

All are equal before the work, before the mysteries of a score; this was Claudio Abbados heart-felt conviction. For him, the willingness to be open to one another and to the independent life of musical processes was the only prerequisite for making music. In the live performances documented here for the first time, Abbado could be sure of the devotion of these world-class artists: the LUCERNE FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA, the sopranos Christine Schäfer and Juliane Banse, as well as the actor Bruno Ganz. They shared his credo of listening togetherness (Die ZEIT) that made possible those precious moments of musical truth toward which this great conductor strove throughout his life.
