Look Away

"Can't Look Away" is the 4th studio album by South African American singer-songwriter and musician Trevor Rabin, released on 10 July 1989 on Elektra Records. The album reached #111 on the U.S. Billboard 200 during a stay of ten weeks. "Something to Hold on To" was released as a single and reached #3 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, with its accompanying music video receiving a nomination for Best Video, Short Form at the 1990 Grammy Awards. In a 2004 interview, Rabin described "Can't Look Away" as "by far my best solo album and the one I'm happiest with." A remastered edition was released in 2011 through Voiceprint Records.

Don't Look Away completes a trilogy of solo albums from experimental singer/songwriter Alexander Tucker which began with 2011's Dorwytch and continued with Third Mouth the following year. These albums marked a shift from the enigmatic artist's earlier style, which was far more abstract and freely flowing, to more traditional forms of songwriting. Since those two albums, Tucker has devoted much of his time to Grumbling Fur, a project with Daniel O'Sullivan which has explored Eno-esque avant-pop in addition to heady minimalism (as Grumbling Fur Time Machine Orchestra).

Every day, 250 children are suspended from school. Many are children of color, deprived of opportunities to experience learning at the same rate and quality as white children. Many families don't feel heard or respected in their child's schools.

Né en Allemagne en 1966, Max Richter est encore enfant quand sa famille emménage en Angleterre. C'est là, à l'Université d'Edimbourg, qu'il se frotte à l'apprentissage du piano et à l'art de la composition avant d'intégrer l'Académie Royale de musique à Londres puis de parfaire sa formation à Florence avec Luciano Berio. Après ses études, il forme l'ensemble classique contemporain Piano Circus qui pendant dix ans entreprend d'explorer les travaux de Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt et Julia Wolfe. Au fil des années, il travaille avec des artistes electro comme des musiciens de classique et autres avant-gardistes comme Robert Wyatt, mais aussi sur des musiques de films et un projet d'adaptation des Cahiers in-octavo de Franz Kafka bénéficiant d'une narration signée Tilda Swinton.
