Ricchi e Poveri (The Rich and the Poor) were born in Genoa in 1967 as a polyphonic quartet, made up of two female and two male voices: Angela Brambati, Marina Occhiena, Franco Gatti and Angelo Sotgiu. Ricchi e Poveri are among the best-selling Italian artists in the world. In the 70s and 80s some of their singles reached the top of the Italian and international charts. They participate in twelve editions of the Sanremo Festival, arriving in second place twice and winning in 1985 with "Se M’Innamoro". Among the most successful songs: The First Beautiful Thing, What Will Be, It will Be Because I Love You, Mamma Maria and Voulez Vous Danser.

Hypnos 69 was founded in 1994, Diest, Belgium. When Steve and Dave Houtmeyers decide in the summer of '94 to found a band with Tom Vanlaer, also the story of a band that would bring new life to the '60s and '70s psychedelic underground rock-scene of today began: Hypnos 69. The name was appropriately taken from the ancient Greek god of Sleep and Subconsciousness. The number 69 stands for equilibrium and stability; properties that can be retrieved in the marked sound of the band.
