Peps Persson was probably the most important artist in introducing blues to Sweden in the late '60s and early '70s. In 1966, Peps Persson formed the group Downbeat Crowd and released a cover of Muddy Waters' "Got My Mojo Working" as a single. The first LP, "Blues Connection", was released in 1968 on Gazell and the name of the band was now Linkin' Louisiana Peps. The second album "Sweet Mary Jane" under the name Linkin' Louisiana Peps & Blues Quality released in 1969 on Sonet, a label he would keep to for most of his career, and followed a traditional blues and R&B formula.

Mars Bonfire's late-'60s material occasionally bears some resemblance to Steppenwolf, particularly in the use of heavy organs. But in fact this is certainly on the lighter and more pop-flecked side than Steppenwolf, which might both disappointment Steppenwolf fans who seek this out on the basis of the "Born to Be Wild" connection, and make this LP a rather pleasant surprise to those fearing bombastic late-'60s hard rock on the order of Steppenwolf's less impressive aspects. There is a version of "Born to Be Wild" here that is far tamer and less effective than Steppenwolf's hit cover. Yet on about half the album Bonfire favors a pretty airy pop-psychedelic approach (reminiscent of his "Tomorrow's Ship" composition on the single for pre-Steppenwolf outfit the Sparrow, written under his real name of Dennis Edmonton) to both his songwriting and arrangements…

Mary Butterworth was an American heavy psych/proto prog band which recorded only one self-titled album in 1969 and disbanded. They played organ and guitar-driven rock typical for this period of time, like Arcadium, The Doors, Sugarloaf, etc…

Stand Up was the first album where Anderson controlled the music and lyrics, resulting in a group of diverse songs that ranged from the swirling blues of “A New Day Yesterday” and the mandolin-fueled rave-up of “Fat Man,” to the group’s spirited re-working of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Bouree in E Minor.” In a recent interview, Anderson picked Stand Up as his favorite Jethro Tull album, “because that was my first album of first really original music. It has a special place in my heart.” The first disc features Steven Wilson’s new stereo mixes of the original album, along with a number of rare recordings, including an unreleased version of “Bouree.” Other highlights include four songs recorded at the BBC, plus stereo single mixes for “Living In The Past” and “Driving Song”…

Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Peter, Paul and Mary featuring 2012 remastering, using the original master tape. Includes a description and lyrics. Part of a eleven-album Peter, Paul and Mary cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring albums "Peter, Paul And Mary I", "Moving", "In The Wind", "Peter, Paul And Mary in Concert", "A Song Will Rise", "See What Tomorrow Brings", "The Peter, Paul And Mary Album", "Album 1700", "In Japan", "Late Again", and "Peter, Paul And Mommy". The most popular folk group of the 1960s, Peter, Paul and Mary in later decades have also proved themselves to be among the most durable music acts in history. Their longevity dwarfs that of the Weavers, while the fact that the trio continues to be associated with a major record label (Warner Bros.) after decades in the business sets them apart from rivals like the Kingston Trio and the Brothers Four. Then again, perhaps it isn't so surprising – Peter, Paul and Mary's roots run deeper than almost any other folk act one might care to name, while their appeal crosses audience lines that other acts couldn't (and can't) even approach.

Zen is a Dutch rock band, founded by Siegfried 'Siebe' de Jong (vocals and saxophone) and Dirk van der Ploeg (guitar and vocals) in 1965. Van der Ploeg writes the lyrics, music and arrangements.
This is the rare first album from the 60s psych pop Dutch band, originally released in 1969. The hippie-oriented band hits the top spot on the Dutch Top 40 singles chart in January 1969, with their version of the theme from the musical "Hair".
After various line-up changes, the band dissolves in 1977. In the 1980s the first incarnation of the band plays some reunion concerts.
