Miles Davis Sourcer

In 1985, Miles Davis shocked the music world by moving from Columbia to Warner Bros.. He immediately started working on an album called "Perfect Way" after a tune by Scritti Politti, later renamed "Tutu" by producer Tommy LiPuma. When "Tutu" (a tribute to Desmond Tutu) was released in 1986, it re-ignited Miles Davis’ career, crossing over into the rock and pop markets and winning him two Grammy Awards. A definitive collection of the later part of Miles Davis’ work, fully remastered, from the Warner Bros studio albums "Tutu", "Amandla" and "Doo-Bop", the "Dingo" and "Siesta" soundtracks, live recordings with Quincy Jones, and the likes of Kenny Garrett, Foley and Adam Holzman.

The recording of this historic concert is presented in its entirety for the first time in this edition. The remastered original tapes have been used to produce this CD, ensuring excellent sound quality.

1970 serves as a tectonic shift within the crossroads of American popular music. Miles Davis' recordings from the years of 1951-1954 are often overlooked for a number of reasons. Davis had a somewhat erratic lifestyle at the time, and these recordings do not feature the first 'classic' quintet. Even though Davis did not record nearly as often as in later years, what was recorded is quite outstanding.

Miles Ahead is an original motion picture soundtrack of the film Miles Ahead. The album features Miles Davis, Robert Glasper, Don Cheadle, Taylor Eigsti, Ewan McGregor and Phil Schaap. Consisting of 24 tracks, the ranges of album's genre include jazz-instrumental, jazz-funk, trumpet jazz, modal music, hard bop & fusion. There are four new compositions written/co-written by Robert Glasper. The album stands as a double portrait of Miles Davis, since there are both contemporary songs of recent artists and the past original songs of Miles Davis.

This album was the first to be released showcasing Miles Davis and his new quintet. However it was not the first that Davis recorded with this quintet: before Davis could leave Prestige for his new record label, Columbia, he had to fulfill the remainder of his contract.

The Complete Blue Note recording sessions with alternate takes and the bonus EP 'Enigma' which includes recently discovered alternate takes that were released on 10-inch vinyl earlier this year. Bitches Brew is called the monument of "Electric Miles", a popular work that became Miles's first gold disc. It was originally released in March 1970, which was popular not only for jazz fans since its launch. Recording is taking place in New York in August 1969 the day after Woodstock is over. This 2018 Limited Edition Japanese Multichannel Hybrid SACD release comes in a deluxe 7" packaging and features the first release of reviving the 1970s Quadraphonic mix in over 40 years. Stereo layer is also features the latest mastering from analog master.

"Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet" is an album by Miles Davis, recorded in 1956 but not released until 1961 as PRLP 7200. Two sessions on May 11, 1956 and October 26 in the same year resulted in four albums: this one, "Relaxin' with The Miles Davis Quintet", "Workin' with The Miles Davis Quintet" and "Cookin' with the Miles Davis Quintet". This album centers on the improvisations of the quintet as well as the interactions between the members of the quintet.
