Chely Wright, who has been largely out of the music spotlight for the past five years, will release her first new album since 2010. I Am the Rain, due September 9th on MRI/Sony, is the follow-up to Lifted Off the Ground, the LP she released in conjunction with her memoir Like Me, which detailed her struggles as a closeted lesbian in the country-music industry. The new album was recorded with Grammy-winning producer Joe Henry last fall at the iconic Sunset Sound studio in Los Angeles. It features guest appearances from Emmylou Harris, Milk Carton Kids, and the producer of Wright's previous album, Rodney Crowell, who co-wrote "At the Heart of Me" with Wright and Henry.

In 1967, when teenaged prodigy Steve Winwood left the Spencer Davis Group (for whom he'd sung lead on hits like "Gimme Some Lovin'" and "I'm a Man") to start a new band with guitarist Dave Mason, few observers thought their idea of blending pop, rock, and jazz would work. Immediately, though, Traffic scored giant UK hits with Winwood's east-meets-west "Paper Sun" and Mason's acid-jazzy "Hole in My Shoe." Between those songs, the smoking-guitar driven title track, the swinging instrumental "Giving to You" and the haunting ballad, "No Face, No Name, No Number," Traffic's debut established both players as elite members of the new guard of late 60s British rock. Sometimes referred to as "VU 2", ANOTHER VIEW is a second collection of previously unreleased Velvet Underground recordings.
ANOTHER VIEW works as that one final glimpse at the Velvet Underground– another insight into the various aspects that made the band great, and another pang of regret that they were never given their due in their time…

Jimmy Reed signed with Chicago's Vee-Jay Records in 1953 and he stayed with the label for nearly a dozen years, during a decade where blues had its last great run as a hit singles medium. Reed was partially responsible for the golden age of blues hits on the R&B charts in the '50s, racking up nine Billboard R&B Top 10 singles between 1955 and 1961. All the hits, along with their flipsides – and, sometimes, the spoken introduction not released on a 45 – are here on this magnificent triple-disc set from Craft Recordings.

This British Sunray Label pressing has THE BEST SOUND I'VE EVER HEARD FOR THIS ALBUM! None of the Pink Label originals that we played had the deep, powerful, punchy bass that this pressing has, coupled with an extended, sweet top end. This is one of the best sounding Traffic records ever made. It's a wonderful example of late '60s British psychedelic rock. Better records.

This is a repost, due to an unexpected issue with the encoding bitrate.

Three CD set. Coming together at the end of the Sixties, Essex band Dear Mr. Time were a five-piece progressive rock outfit influenced by the likes of King Crimson and The Moody Blues. The independent Square label released the band's seven-ages-of-man concept album Grandfather in early 1971. With Vertigo's interest in signing Dear Mr. Time scuppered by the fact that Square had signed them to an exclusive three-year deal, the band decided to split before a second album could be recorded. By the early Nineties, original copies of Grandfather were selling for large sums of money, and the album was counterfeited several times before finally being legally reissued in 2010. Buoyed by the reception that the official reissue received, the core members of Dear Mr. Time reconvened, recording two further albums - Brontosaurs And Bling and Time - as well as recording tracks for a proposed fourth album. This anthology of the band's work assembles all three Dear Mr. Time albums and adds that proposed fourth album. We also add some fascinating early Seventies home demos from guitarist and chief songwriter Chris Baker, performing a batch of songs that would have formed the basis of that aborted follow-up to Grandfather. With a booklet that illustrates the band's story with rare photos and new quotes, our expanded release of Grandfather is the final word on a progressive rock band who, although they made a limited impression at the time, have now attracted collector interest for more than three decades.
