Mark Walker Hitler's Atomic Bomb

On 19 December 1938, Otto Hahn, working at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Chemistry in Berlin, conducted an experiment the results of which baffled him. It took his émigré collaborator Lise Meitner to explain that he had split an atom of uranium, which at the time seemed to defy all known laws of physics.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb comes the 'shadow' album, a collection of 10 songs titled How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb which includes new and unreleased songs discovered in the archive of the original album recording sessions, available from 22nd November.

Before the Manhattan Project, before nuclear warfare and the horrors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, there was the twentieth century's great scientific quest to fathom the secrets of the atom. It was through that search for the inner workings of matter that a unique friendship was forged, a partnership that defied academic orthodoxy and altered the course of history.
