Masters Legacy Series

Young pianist Emmet Cohen has a reverence for the history of jazz and a deep abiding yearning to preserve the music of the masters and to this end, Cohen developed the concept of a Masters Legacy Series intended to be a collection of recordings and interviews with various living jazz icons who began their careers fifty or sixty-years-ago. Volume one celebrates and documents the music of Jimmy Cobb, arguably one of the finest drum masters of our time, and is the center piece in the inaugural installment of the project.

From its languid beginning, saxophonist Houston Person's own warmly engaging "Why Not?," to its closing, Etta James' slinky seduction "Sunday Kind of Love," Emmet Cohen's Master Legacy Series Vol. 5 Featuring Houston Person is a decidedly laid-back affair, unlike much of its predecessors which featured Jimmy Cobb, Ron Carter, George Coleman, Benny Golson and Albert Tootie Heath.

This is the third record in Emmet Cohen's signature project, "Masters Legacy Series." Philadelphian Jazz legends Benny Golson and Albert "Tootie" Heath reunite in their 80's for a powerful and spiritual new release with young star pianist, Emmet Cohen.

Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings will release in November, the Bob Dylan box set that fans have really been waiting for. More Blood, More Tracks: The Bootleg Series Vol. 14 will be available as a six-CD set that includes “every surviving take” (including the complete New York sessions) from the 1974 studio recordings made by Bob Dylan which resulted in his 1975 classic Blood On The Tracks.
