Matija Svira Arsena

Boris Novković is a prolific Croatian singer-songwriter. His interest in a musical career was cultivated by his family background, with a mother who taught music, and a father, Đorđe Novković, who was a leading Croatian songwriter and music manager. He released his first album, Kuda Idu Izgubljene Djevojke in 1986, selling 120,000 copies. Here is the album Ostvaren san (2004).

Bijelo dugme ("White Button") was a highly influential rock band stationed in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, when the country was still a part of Yugoslavia. Active between 1974 and 1989, it is considered to have been the most popular band ever to exist in former Yugoslavia and one of the most important acts of the Yugoslav Rock scene. Bijelo dugme laid the groundwork for the Yugoslav rock scene, and the epitome for the Sarajevo rock school. Inspiring many artists from different musical genres, from all countries of former Yugoslavia.

“Tiiffany Girl” (1985.) je sav od klasičnog jazza, piana, kotrabasa i bubnjeva s metlicama. Album potpisuje Boško Petrović Quartet, a iza tog imena se opet krije inozemna postava koju čine Boško, Kenny Drew (piano), Peter Herbert (kontrabas) i Alvin Queen (bubnjevi).

“U mukama rođena / With pain I was born” (1977.) je album punokrvne moderne jazz fuzije, kojim je Boško želio zaintrigirati mlađu (čitaj: rock) publiku. Skladba koja je albumu dala ime i koja ga otvara jedan je od njegovih zaštitnih znakova koji se u raznim verzijama pojavljivao na više albuma, a ovdje je predstavljena u jednom od najzanimljivijih čitanja sa sjajnom dionicom na električnoj violini koju je odsvirao mađarski violinist Csaba Deseo.

Bijelo dugme was founded by Goran Bregović, who spent much of his childhood in a Musical School for violin players, from which he was expelled for "lack of talent". Soon after his expulsion, his mother bought him a guitar, and thus, Bijelo dugme was born.
