Richard Hartley is a New York-based pastor, singer, arranger, songwriter, actor and musical director who has spent much of his career helping other major artists sound their best. He's recorded and/or performed with Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Tricky, Kelly Price, Candi Staton, the Staple Singers,Edwin and Walter Hawkins,Celine Dion,Mary J Blige,Faith Evans,Diddy R.Kelly,a tv appearance with Ms Aretha Franklin and and a movie appearance with the legendary Diana Ross and more! He's been lauded by Luther Vandross,Ashford and Simpson,Andrae Crouch and others.

Singer/actress Lena Horne's primary occupation was nightclub entertaining, a profession she pursued successfully around the world for more than 60 years, from the 1930s to the 1990s. In conjunction with her club work, she also maintained a recording career that stretched from 1936 to 2000 and brought her three Grammys, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1989; she appeared in 16 feature films and several shorts between 1938 and 1978; she performed occasionally on Broadway, including in her own Tony-winning one-woman show, Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, in 1981-1982; and she sang and acted on radio and television.

A new four-disc box set featuring classic live sets by Frank Sinatra performed in London will be released next month. Universal Muisc Enterprises have worked with Frank Sinatra Enterprises to create the appropriately titled London which focuses on projects from between 1953 and 1984, bringing to light more than 50 previously unreleased tracks.

This attractive box houses three previously released Black Lion CDs recorded at pianist/composer Thelonious Monk's final sessions as a leader; only a few dates with the Giants of Jazz were left in the future for Monk, who would soon retire altogether. Heard in unaccompanied piano solos and in a trio with bassist Al McKibbon and drummer Art Blakey, Monk is in surprisingly exuberant form, still very much at the peak of his powers. Although most of this music was last available in a "complete" Mosaic LP box set, there are actually three additional alternate takes included in the very enjoyable and somewhat definitive set. Highlights include "Little Rootie Tootie," "Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland," "Blue Sphere," "Criss Cross," "The Man I Love" and "Evidence," but all 29 selections are well worth hearing. This is essential music for all serious Thelonious Monk collections; the solo performances in particular are quite memorable.

She is best remembered as the big-voiced star of a series of movie musicals, particularly The Wizard of Oz, in which she sang her signature song, "Over the Rainbow."
