Williamson adapted the country-styled, chordal-rhythmic technique that he learned from Noah Lewis and Hammie Nixon to suit the demands of the evolving urban blues styles. These 42 tracks include Sonny Boy's records and sport an imposing list of sidemen: Robert Nighthawk, Big Joe Williams, Henry Townsend, Walter Davis, Yank Rachell, Big Bill Broonzy, and Speckled Red. This is a definitive collection.

Founded in 2008, the Austrian trio Mother's Cake are set to unleash their third studio album, 'No Rhyme No Reason'. Songs such as first single 'The Killer', 'The Sun' and album opener 'No Rhyme Or Reason' create an immediate impact via an explosive alliance of garage, psych, indie and blues rock, while lengthier sonic excursions such as 'Streetja Man', 'Enemy' and 'H8' delve deeper with elements of psychedelic, progressive and space rock mixed into compelling sound palettes.

On her 19th album, Cassandra Wilson, ever the musical chameleon, changes directions once more. She is arguably the greatest living female jazz singer. Well known for her blues, soul, pop covers, and jazz standards, her smoky alto bends almost everything to its will. Wilson's phrasing is utterly unique, as original as any horn player's or pianist's music. Another Country, co-produced by Wilson and guitarist Fabrizio Sotti, was recorded in three different studios in Florence, New Orleans, and New York.
