INQUISITION will release a new album entitled "Black Mass for a Mass Grave" on November 20th. The album was prodcued by Alejandro Corredor. Vincent Foquet painted the cover artwork.

As the post-punk dust began to settle, a particular strand of artist began applying a knowingly distant, colder aesthetic to their work. While much of the scene began to be dominated by bigger budget, commercially minded former punk and new wave acts, a darker undercurrent did survive, often more interesting, more dangerous and sexier than anything that could be heard on Top Of The Pops at the time. The first generation of the darkwave movement consisted of bands that were equally influenced by the fractured drama of Depeche Mode, Siouxsie & the Banshees and The Cure as they were by the art damaged experimentation of Cabaret Voltaire, Wire and Throbbing Gristle, always rich in Gothic spirt, societal displacement, urban isolation and sexual energy.

Doug Raney was an American jazz guitarist. He was the son of Jimmy Raney. Raney began his career in his father's band, with Al Haig, at the age of 18. He later played in a duo with his father. He recorded as a leader for SteepleChase extensively in the 1970s and 1980s, and worked with Kenny Barron, Joey DeFrancesco, Billy Hart, Duke Jordan, Jesper Lundgaard, Horace Parlan, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Tomas Franck, Bernt Rosengren, and Chet Baker among others. Doug Raney moved to Denmark in 1977.

Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of '70s albums from the legendary Soul vocalist Jerry Butler (nicknamed 'The Ice Man' for both his 'cool' vocal style and his personal demeanor). Signing with Motown in 1975, Jerry began immediately working on Love's on the Menu with some of Motown's in-house producers, the team of Clayton Ivey and Terry Woodford; and hometown producers Michael Davis and Sam Brown. The album featured mostly original compositions (a number co-written by Butler) alongside covers. Released in 1977, Jerry's second Motown set Suite for a Single Girl (which he co-produced with Homer Talbert and Paul Wilson) and was, as it's' title implied, a concept-driven album…

It’s country music but not as we know it which begs the question: Have these Bad Kids of 21st Century rock ’n’ roll finally grown up on their ninth studio album? Are they at peace with themselves? Have they made a record their parents could listen to? The Black Lips new album Sing In A World That’s Falling Apart continues to flick the middle finger to one and all. This ain’t another gaggle of bearded southern sons fleeing their collective suburban upbringings and collegiate music education. There aren’t the usual clichés about drinking, honkytonks, and heartbreak. These are, after all, the same Black Lips who rescued the waning garage punk subgenre by not sounding or dressing their musical predecessors.
