“Incredibles 2” is a 2018 American 3D computer-animated superhero film, produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. Written and directed by Brad Bird, it is the sequel to 2004’s The Incredibles. The plot follows the Parr family as they attempt to put superheroes back in the spotlight while dealing with normal life, only to combat a new foe who seeks to turn the general public against all supers. While several of the characters and voices from the previous film return, the sequel includes new characters voiced by Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush and Bill Wise. Michael Giacchino returned to write the score.
Hold on to your butts, and grab a pair of headphones as you can now listen to the first previews of the Fallen Kingdom soundtrack!
The latest Jurassic Park sequel has already roared its way into overseas theaters, and one of the main things fans can’t stop talking about is the new soundtrack from Oscar-winner Michael Giacchino. Reprising his role of composer from Jurassic World, Giacchino has brought a darker style to the latest installment, embracing its extinction level and Gothic undertones. I’ve seen the film myself, and I cannot stop thinking about the music, and how badly I wish I had access to it already.
Composed by longtime J.J. Abrams collaborator Michael Giacchino, who also composed the music for series like Alias, Lost, and Fringe, as well as the previous installment of the rebooted Star Trek, the score to Star Trek: Into Darkness follows the re-imagined franchise out of the realm of sci-fi and into the world of action. Filled with tension and urgency, Giacchino's huge score builds a kind of tension and urgency that feels right at home in this new Trek universe, playing to the film's strength as a thrill-a-minute action adventure and making for a fine analogue to its original series predecessor, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Definitely worth a listen for Star Trek fans, especially those willing to accept this new take on the Trek universe with open arms (and ears).
