Lead guitarists and melodic death-slingers Niclas Engelin (In Flames) and Jesper Strömblad (ex-In Flames), lead singer and lyricist Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity), supported by the solid backbone and foundation of bassist Peter Iwers (ex-In Flames), and his partner in crime for twenty plus years, hard-hitting drummer Daniel Svensson (ex-In Flames).

Michael E Frith had piano lessons as a young child but was really turned on to music in big way when Motown hit him like a ton of bricks in the early sixties, he was smitten and from that time on he’s had a love affair with music. He joined various cover bands and toured the Euro/American Navy and Air force bases playing keyboards and percussion and enjoyed a short stint with U.S. vocal group Johnny Johnson and the Bandwagon, who had a massive hit worldwide with "Breaking Down The Walls Of Heartache"…

Internationally-celebrated bassist and recording artist whose last five instrumental solo albums have helped define his unique and innovative voice. His latest release, The World Is Loud represents a return to his prog rock roots and features him for the first time in the role of lead vocalist and lyricist. This ground-breaking release showcases his versatility and ability to cross genres while still providing the musical excitement and virtuosic performances that have characterized his prior releases.

The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat is a chamber opera based on Oliver Sacks's book of the same name. A true story, it takes the form of a neurological case-study; Dr P, a professional singer, suffers from visual agnosia—an inability to recognize or make sense of what he sees—and the opera describes in simple, unpretentious dialogue two consultation sessions during which the other two characters, the neurologist (Dr S) and the patient's wife (Mrs P), by way of a sequence of tests and conversations, gradually penetrate the mystery of the symptoms.

For this, his seventh soundtrack for director Peter Greenaway, Nyman deftly orchestrates a mix of strings, horns, and voices to produce another of his fetching and romantic minimalist backdrops. The opening "Memorial" is the highlight of the lot and drives along with stuttering saxophones, an insistent string arrangement, elegiac brass solos, and the soaring vocals of soprano Sarah Leonard (Leonard would be featured on a large part of the Prospero's Books soundtrack). The piece was originally inspired by a 1985 Belgian soccer match tragedy, in which 39 Italian fans were killed. Nyman utilized a death march in his earlier Greenaway collaboration, Drowning by Numbers, and revives the scheme to great effect here for what would become the main theme of The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover. Nyman contrasts the piece's climatic quality with two relatively sedate yet brooding numbers.
