Electric guitars, swinging rhythms, studded jeans and petticoats - rock'n'roll has not only completely changed the entire music world, it was also then and still is today a musical style and attitude to life in equal measure. With "Die Hit-Giganten - Best Of Rock'n'Roll", the well-known Sat-1 sampler therefore now dedicates itself to the legends of this genre, which found its origin in the America of the 1950s. They swing, they rock and "The Hit Giants - Best Of Rock'n'Roll" has them all: the stars and legends of Rock'n'Roll. This collection belongs in every well-assorted CD cabinet!
An excellent collection of music by this awesome hard rockin' band from Greece that features 20 tracks (75 mins) of outstanding, world-class, blues-based, retro, guitar-fueled Classic Rock mojo that stands tall and defines hard rock excellence. Strong memorable songs complete with bad-ass riffage, way-kool dual lead guitars, rock solid grooves all rule in the world of this first-rate band of kick-ass hard rockers. True to their band-name, Super Vintage (formely known as Hush N' Rush) are definitely on a mission to Keep the Rock alive with their superb brand of dynamic "Rock N' Roll For Your Soul". An essential plus highly recommended dose of killer hard rock mojo.
My God-Given Right is the fifteenth studio album by German power metal band Helloween. It was released on May 29, 2015. In October 2014, the band announced they were working on a new album for a May 2015 release, with Charlie Bauerfeind producing, to be recorded at Mi Sueño Studio on Tenerife. On February 26, 2015, the band released the name of the album, as well as the May 29th, 2015 release date. According to guitarist and founder Michael Weikath, there was no particular reason for the change of labels other than "plain business".
Bandleader Simon Jeffes composed the leadoff track "Music for a Found Harmonium" on a harmonium he found abandoned on a Tokyo street, which offers an inkling of the musical inspiration that sprang from this remarkable Englishman. As usual, he gathers a loose aggregation of musicians who create stunning, free-flowing acoustic sounds that defy categorization…
Reissue with latest 2015 DSD remastering. Comes with liner notes. A bold little message from alto saxophonist Lenny Hambro – a very strong record that should have made him as much of a giant on his instrument as contemporary talents like Lee Konitz or Herb Geller! Hambro has some of the soulful edge of the latter, and lots of the crisp, modern chromes of the former – especially in the way he runs alongside some great guitar in the group from Dick Garcia – a player we mostly know for his work on the Dawn label at the time, but who really makes the record something special here. The rest of the combo features Wade Legge on piano, Clyde Lombardi on bass, and Mel Zelnick on rhythm – and Hambro's sax work is angular and very deft – already at the top of his game. Titles include the Legge originals "Slave Girl", "Message In Minor", "Moon Slippers", and "Hoof Beats" – plus Hambro's "Thanatopsis" and "The Lonely One".
The "+" in the title of Live+ refers to the two studio recordings tacked onto the end of this 2015 live set: a tense, cloistered original called "Tribal," where Jeff Beck spits out squalls of noise over thundering primal drums; and a cover of "My Tiled White Floor," a wash of electronic soul with vocals by Veronica Bellino that feels constructed out of faded memories of Prince. They're nice additions that wouldn't have quite suited 2010's Emotion & Commotion, nor do they quite feel of a piece with the rest of Live+, all recorded on tour in August 2014.
Reissue with the latest remastering. Features original cover artwork. Comes with a descripton in Japanese. An expanded version of the quartet you'd usually expect to hear in this classic Eastern Rebellion series – and a group that really makes all the best of all their added elements! In addition to Cedar Walton's amazing work on piano, the set also features Curtis Fuller on trombone, Chocolate Armenteros on trumpet, Bob Berg on tenor, David Williams on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums – the last three of whom are familiar Rebellion partners, but who get some new power in the lead from the presence of Fuller and Armenteros!
