It also includes Lonely Blue Boy, a song originally written for Elvis, as well as Is A Bluebird Blue, the first hit by the great soul songwriter, Dan Penn. Mixed in among Conway's originals are stellar versions of classic songs like You'll Never Walk Alone, You Win Again, C'Est Si Bon, and What Am I Living For.

Originally issued in 1958, Conway Twitty Sings was released in order to capitalise on the success of the single Its Only Make Believe, a chart topper on both sides of the Atlantic. That wasnt to be Conways only hit either, with The Story Of My Love and Mona Lisa also making respectable appearances on the chart. Conway Twitty Sings was subsequently re-promoted in light of this continued success, with the album becoming something of a mini greatest hits package. Conway would go on to register 55 number one hits on the country chart, yet topped the pop chart only once, with Its Only Make Believe. When it was originally released, the general public were convinced it was Elvis Presley recording under an assumed name. There is certainly a similarity between the two voices, as Mona Lisa later on this album would also highlight.
