In the last decades robots are expected to be of increasing intelligence to deal with a large range of tasks. Especially, robots are supposed to be able to learn manipulation skills from humans. To this end, a number of learning algorithms and techniques have been developed and successfully implemented for various robotic tasks. Among these methods, learning from demonstrations (LfD) enables robots to effectively and efficiently acquire skills by learning from human demonstrators, such that a robot can be quickly programmed to perform a new task.

Robot Intelligence: An Advanced Knowledge Processing Approach by Honghai Liu
English | PDF,EPUB | 2010 | 299 Pages | ISBN : 1849963282 | 27.2 MB

Robot Intelligence is an exciting interdisciplinary field including engineering, information technology, machine learning, biological science and psychology. Its dramatic growth in practical applications is driven by both real-world requirements and maturity of related disciplines such as intelligent algorithms. It is expected that perception, understanding and reasoning capabilities play a crucial role in robot-assisted tasks and enable robots to exhibit similar performance on executing various tasks in both constrained and unconstrained environments.

An Introduction to Robot Technology

An Introduction to Robot Technology by Philippe Coiffet , Michel Chirouze
English | PDF | 1983 | 183 Pages | ISBN : 940116102X | 12.1 MB

Robotics is now a well established field of endeavour both in industry and research laboratories. There is a danger that the word may be widely in areas where it is inappropriate, so knowing precisely what used even a robot is, how it is controlled and how it may be used in specific applications is of the highest importance. The authors are not only innovators in the development of robots but also highly respected educators. This book has been carefully com piled to crystallize, for the reader, the fundamentals of robot operation and application. The material carefully treads its path between achieving broad coverage and depth where it is needed. Industrialists, teachers and students alike will benefit from the book. Igor Aleksander July 1983 Chapter 1 Robotics: an introduction As a result of the great advances of the last few years many industrial processes have become largely automated, with the human operator playing an ever decreasing role. The fully automated and unmanned factory is probably now only a few decades away.

On Advances in Robot Kinematics by J. Lenarčič, C. Galletti
English | PDF (True) | 2004 | 488 Pages | ISBN : 1402022484 | 44.3 MB

In the last decade, we have seen an extraordinary progress in the the ory and applications of robot kinematics. This has been motivated espe cially by the development of complex parallel and humanoid robots. The present book reports the most recent research advances in the theory, design, control and application of robotic systems, which are intended for a variety of purposes such as manipulation, manufacturing, automa tion, surgery, locomotion and biomechanics. The issues addressed are fundamentally kinematic in nature, including synthesis, calibration, re dundancy, force control, dexterity, inverse and forward kinematics, kine matic singularities, as well as over-constrained systems. Methods used include line geometry, quaternion algebra, screw algebra, and linear alge bra. These methods are applied to both parallel and serial multi-degree of-freedom systems. The results should interest researchers, teachers and students, in fields of engineering and mathematics related to robot theory, design, control and application. This is the sixth book of the series Advances in Robot Kinematics published by Kluwer. The contributions in this book had been rigorously reviewed by in dependent reviewers and fifty one articles had been recommended for publication. They were introduced in seven chapters. These articles were also reported and discussed at the ninth international symposium on Advances in Robot Kinematics which was held in June 2004 in Sestri Levante in Italy.

English | EPUB (True) | 2024 | 573 Pages | ISBN : 3031591666 | 119.5 MB

This book contains a selection of papers accepted for presentation and discussion at ROBOT2023, the Sixth Iberian Robotics Conference, held in the University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, during November 22nd-24th, 2023. ROBOT2023 is part of a series of conferences that are jointly organized by Sociedade Portuguesa de Robótica (SPR) / Portuguese Society for Robotics and by Sociedad Española para la Investigación y Desarrollo en Robótica (SEIDROB) / Spanish Society for Research and Development in Robotics. These conferences, now occurring with a yearly periodicity, provide a forum to roboticists mostly from Iberia, but also from other parts of the world, to present and discuss their research results, new developments, and applications in the field of Robotics.
